Welcome to the jumping off point for the new CUTeach program for undergraduates interested in careers in Science, Mathematics and Engineering K-12 teaching. CU Teach is an adaption of the highly successful UTeach program at The University of Texas at Austin.

The first step (STEP 1) is EDUC 4800: Inquiry Approaches to Teaching. This is a one-credit hour course that provides the opportunity and support to “try out” teaching by conducting engaging science experiments with local elementary school students.

Step 1 is a low-risk and low-commitment course that introduces CU students to a streamlined secondary teacher education program in the sciences and mathematics called CU Teach.

No prerequisites are required for course registration and no commitment to completing teacher licensure is required upon course completion.

STEP 1 IS OPEN TO ALL INTERESTED CU STUDENTS.

Class meets once a week for the entire semester for one and one-half hours. Additionally, students make five visits to a local school to observe and teach.

Register for EDUC 4800-001. Call number: 84128.
