CU Teach Seeking Master Teacher
CU Teach will be hiring a second Master Teacher by the end of 2008. Stay tuned!
What is STEM-Colorado?
STEM-Colorado offers extraordinary opportunities for leadership training to University of Colorado undergraduates interested in science and mathematics education at all levels.
Our mission is to address the number one priority recommendation of the National Academy for American global competitiveness in the 21st century: "Increase America’s talent pool by vastly improving K-12 science and mathematics education" and recommendation #3: "Make the United States the most attractive setting in which to study and perform research so that we can develop, recruit, and retain the best and brightest students, scientists, and engineers from within the United States and throughout the world."
Supported in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation, STEM Colorado is designed to recruit, support, and prepare University of Colorado undergraduates to become leaders in K-12 science and math education.
Program overview
The new CU-Teach certification program will be aligned with our current courses that lead to secondary mathematics and science certification. We are adding two new courses, STEP I and STEP II that will allow interested students to try their hand at teaching in the K-12 schools. The STEP courses and the Learning Assistant program will serve to recruit students into the CU-Teach certification program.
